Frequently Asked Questions

    • Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to your appointment, otherwise there will be a $100 Late Cancellation fee charged to your account.

    • You, not your insurance company, are responsible for paying the fee.

    • You can cancel your appointment by emailing Dr. Lezama as soon as you are aware you cannot attend your scheduled appointment.

    • If you cancel 3 appointments consecutively, please be aware there will be a conversation at your next appointment regarding goodness-of-fit, potential barriers for attending regular sessions, potential referrals to other providers, or possible termination of psychotherapy.

    • If you do not attend your appointment & do not contact Dr. Lezama, a $150 No-Show fee will be charged to your account.

    • You, not your insurance company, are responsible for paying the fee.

    • You will be automatically marked as a No Show if you are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment without prior notification.

    • If you are running late to your appointment, please email Dr. Lezama as soon as you are able to to inform her of your late arrival.

    • If you arrive late to your appointment, please be aware you will not receive an extension of time as a courtesy to clients scheduled after your appointment.

    • All major credit cards and health savings accounts (HSAs) cards are accepted forms of payment.

    • Cash, checks, and gift cards are not accepted.

    • Therapy appointments will not be scheduled if there is not an active method of payment on record.

    • The best thing you can do for yourself, regardless if you are new to therapy or a seasoned client, is to simply show up & be yourself. You are safe here.

    • Clients who regularly attend their appointments reap the most benefits from psychotherapy.

    • Successful engagement in therapy means taking an active role in your treatment, such as being willing to be vulnerable & honest with yourself & your therapist.

    • Intake & follow-up appointments last for 53-55 minutes.

    • If you need more time after your scheduled appointment, you are welcome to schedule a second one for that same week.

    • Therapy sessions are generally scheduled on a weekly basis, but every client is unique. Treatment frequency will depend on individual client needs & goals.

    • Therapy can be short-term to focus on a specific issue, or longer-term to address more complex issues or ongoing personal growth.

    • The law protects the confidentiality of all therapeutic communications between a client & psychotherapist.

    • No information is disclosed without prior written permission from the client.

    • However, there are some exceptions required by law to this rule. Exceptions include:

      • Suspected child abuse or dependant adult or elder abuse. The therapist is required to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.

      • If a client intends to harm themselves or others. The therapist will make every effort to work with the individual to ensure safety. However, if an individual does not cooperate, additional measures may need to be taken.

    • If you are experiencing concerns about your personal safety, are having suicidal thoughts or intentions, or feel a desire to harm yourself or others, please go to the nearest emergency room.

    • If you do not feel safe driving yourself or you cannot find transportation to the ER, please call 911. An officer will arrive to help escort you to the hospital, where you will then receive support and interventions to determine what are the next best steps to ensure your safety.

    • Dr. Lezama does not offer after-hours emergency services or crisis intervention
